Linda Faye Miller received international recognition for her appearance in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award winning film Age of Innocence. Her onscreen performance, as Swedish soprano Christine Nilsson singing the love-duet from Gounod’s Faust, opens the film, igniting Edith Wharton’s telling of the love story between Michelle Pfeiffer’s and Daniel Day-Lewis’ characters.

REviews & Press

"Linda Faye Miller is not only an excellent soprano with a remarkably beautiful voice but also a very expressive stage personality. It was a great pleasure to work with her in Calgary on three occasions: a concert production of Mendelssohn’s music to Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, the concert version of Verdi’s Falstaff (Alice Ford) and Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony. I look forward to working with her again. It will be a joy."
Hans Graf
Conductor
“ Alberta soprano, Linda Faye Miller, sang the pieces with the orchestra (Vier Letzte Lieder) and the combination of the flowing strains of Strauss, the lyrical movement of the dancers and Miller’s crystalline voice was irresistible.”
Faye Lippett
Calgary Herald
“Thank you so much for your touching and magnificent singing. It made the ballet a joy to listen to.”
Rudi van Dantzig
Choreographer of Strauss’ Four Last Songs
“Musically secure and vocally always on the money, Calgary soprano Linda Miller made the strongest impression for her complete engagement with her role (Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff) in its every dimension.”

TIerra de Luz

Spain, land of light. Music, stories, and images, inspired by the poetry of Federico García Lorca, interpreted through dance, song, and music, infused with flamenco.

Tierra de luz,  cielo de tierra.
Land of light, sky of earth.

– Federico García Lorca

This project began as a collaboration between singer Linda Miller and flamenco dancer Anastassiia La Musa, inspired by Spanish classical music, flamenco, and poetry by Federico García Lorca. In one of his poems, Lorca referred to Spain as Tierra de Luz, which inspired the name of our project. Together, we will explore music by Granados, Manuel de Falla, Villa-Lobos, and songs collected by Lorca himself, through the lens of Spanish classical and flamenco music/dance. For the finale of Tierra de Luz, Ms. Miller will be joined by Robert Antonius Voltaire (R.A.V.) for the iconic duet, Barcelona, written by the late rock star Freddie Mercury and Spanish soprano Monserrat Caballé.

Our debut concert of Tierra de Luz will take place on March 30, 2019. The ensemble includes Mexican flamenco guitarist and singer Ricardo Sanchez and violinist Jonathan Lewis, collaborators and members, with Anastassiia, of 12 Musas Flamenco Ensemble. Rounding out the ensemble is internationally acclaimed pianist Magdalena von Eccher.
